Top 6 Best Motorcycle Tool Kits On The Market In 2021 Reviews
1
Biker’s Choice Roll-Up Tool Kit 151522 – Best Harley Davidson Motorcycle Tool Kit
Mr. Fix it
First up is this motorcycle tool kit bag. Here we have a roll-up holder for everything we need. It offers a convenient, tidy method of storing tools and won’t take up too much space in the top box.
But, even though it’s compact, it is heavy! This is an incredibly weighty product! Those tools are seriously substantial, wielding a major amount of heft.
What is included?
Just about everything! It has a pretty good selection of utensils. For quick fixes at the side of the road or routine garage maintenance, this product has us covered.
It starts with three open-ended wrenches of various sizes. Then, we get a 10mm combination wrench, with both socket and open ends. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s an adjustable wrench too, to fit almost any nut or bolt.
What else?
A 6-in-1 screwdriver featuring differently sized tips. Two spark plug sockets, one measuring 5/8” and one 13/16”. Plus, a massive 10-piece Allen key set for those hexagonal sockets.
There’s even a selection of tapes, wires, and plastic ties! These are often the most valuable part of a motorcycle tool set. Sure, screwdrivers are great, but when it comes to a quick bodge job, you can’t beat a bit of tape!
For Hog riders…
Now, it should be noted that this was designed with Harley Davidson’s in mind. While it’s not exclusively for Harley’s, there is a chance that parts of it might not fit other brands with awkward sizing. Royal Enfield, we’re looking at you!
But as so many aspects of it are adjustable, for most riders, this won’t matter. There’s a lot to like here. And at a wallet-friendly price, too!
Pros
- Portable.
- Good selection of items.
- Compact.
Cons
- May not suit some brands.

CruzTOOLS RTH3 RoadTech H3 Tool Kit for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles – Best Premium Motorcycle Tool Kit
Fixer upper
Next is another roll-up kit. This one has all the essential tools to carry on a Harley. That’s right; this one was created especially for owners of America’s favorite motorcycle.
The selection of wrenches here is enormous. It has five different sizes to choose from. Plus, an extra, adjustable wrench ensures we have the right tool for any job. We get five Allen keys, too. And they’re backed up by three different star keys. Throw in a drive ratchet, spark plug sockets, and a pair of locking pliers, and the set is pretty much complete!
What makes this product special?
It has quite a few little bonus items. There’s a flashlight for dark nights and a pressure gauge for checking the tires. These are items we don’t always expect to find in a motorcycle tools kit, but we’re glad to have.
And, of course, it has those ever-helpful bits and bobs that people often take for granted. Cable ties, mechanical wire, and duct tape are all included. They may be small, but they can often be the mightiest piece of kit in our arsenal.
This sounds too good to be true! Is it?
Well, while it’s perfect for Harleys, it might not suit other riders. Although it has a great range of measurements, it is designed to be used with specific bikes. Check the specifications of your own motorcycle before buying.
And it isn’t cheap. High quality comes at a price! This is not for budget-conscious bikers.
Goes the distance…
But maybe that doesn’t matter because this one comes with a lifetime guarantee! Splash the cash just once, and you can be the proud owner of a fabulous tool kit for the rest of your life!
Pros
- Awesome range of tools.
- Handy roll-up pouch.
- Flashlight and pressure gauge.
Cons
- Might be unsuitable for some bikes.
- Pricey!

Crescent 170 Pc. General Purpose Tool Set – Closed Case – CTK170CMP2 – Most Comprehensive Motorcycle Tool Kits
Tools of the trade
The next product in this review of the best tool kits for motorbikes is this hard-case set. And it is massive! It contains a whopping 170 items for repairing a bike.
But does it sacrifice quality for quantity?
There’s so much here that it’s difficult to know where to begin. Let’s start with wrenches. In addition to a large, adjustable one, this case has 12 combination options for nuts of any size.
The selection of sockets is impressive, too. There are almost too many to count. Used with the included 72-tooth rachets and extensions, there’s something here for every motorcycle.
But wait, there’s more!
Allen keys, pliers, screwdrivers; this toolbox has so much to offer. And what’s even better is that we get a choice of these items. Most of the tools included have more than one option, depending on the part we’re trying to fix. And, they’re tough. These are constructed from Crestoloy steel alloy. Incredibly durable, it ensures that this set will be around for a long time to come.
But, there are no cable ties. There is no duct tape, or mechanical wire, either. These are essential for any tool kit, so we’ll need to provide them ourselves.
Quality comes at a cost…
OK, that’s a minor criticism. But for this kind of price, they should be included because this item is eye-wateringly expensive! A box like this is tough on the old purse strings.
We can’t deny it, though; those tools are awesome. With standards as high as these, just maybe we get what we pay for.
Pros
- Enormous selection.
- Outstanding craftsmanship.
- Durable hard case.
Cons
- Lacks non-metal items.
- Incredibly expensive!
4
CruzTOOLS RTB1 RoadTech B1 for BMW Motorcycles (2018 and older) – Best BMW Motorcycle Tool Kit
Don’t wanna be your monkey wrench…
BMW riders? This product is for you. It’s ideal for almost all BMW motorcycles, made in 2018 or earlier.
The stars of the show here are the Allen and Torx keys. There are just so many of them. And a close second has to be the 6 in 1 screwdriver, with a head for every need.
And that’s not all!
There’s a mini-ratchet with an extension and four sockets. There’s a fantastic pair of pliers that can be locked in place. We even find our old friends, duct tape, and cable ties, along with a handy length of mechanical wire.
However, with this product, we don’t get the range that other tools kits provide. There also isn’t as much choice when it comes to size. So, while everything here will perfectly match an older BMW, we might run into problems if using it with another bike.
An expensive bike equals an expensive toolkit…
This matters when it comes to pricing, too. This item hurts the pocketbook! For this kind of cost, we should expect a little more quantity. And there’s another issue with the cost. Some of these tools can easily become corroded. No one wants to pay a high price for something that’s likely to rust up, do they?
So, there are positives and negatives here. But we can see far more of the positives. For BMW riders, it has everything necessary to keep the mean machine on the road. And that lifetime guarantee is just the icing on the cake.
Pros
- Compact.
- Extensive selection of Allen and Torx keys.
- Perfect for 2018 or older BMW bikes.
Cons
- Steep price.
- Limited range compared to other kits.
- Incompatible with some brands.

Apollo Tools DT9774 SAE Auto Tool Kit with Zippered Case, 56-Piece – Best Budget Motorcycle Tool Kit
Cheap and cheerful
Constructed from a tough steel alloy, this motorcycle mechanic toolset is incredibly tough! Chrome-plated for protection against corrosion, it won’t fall victim to rust. And if it does, who cares! Because with this affordable tool kit, we get a lifetime guarantee!
With 56 pieces, this product has a lot to give. Its selection of sockets is particularly extensive. There’s a pretty wide range of screwdriver heads, too, to cover most shapes and sizes. The Allen and star keys are great as well. We get six of each. And as they’re double-ended, they take up less space in the bag than single-headed items.
How about that bag?
Lightweight and compact, it’s ideal for long journeys. This won’t take up room in the panniers! And inside, it has strong elastic straps to hold everything in place.
We should mention, however, that the casing isn’t the sturdiest we’ve seen. As it’s so light, it can feel a bit insubstantial. There’s a chance that it won’t protect the tools during a high-impact fall.
So, it’s got screwdrivers, it’s got sockets, and it’s got Allen keys. It even has cable ties, which are always useful.
Is anything missing?
Yes. There are no wrenches included. Wrenches are usually considered the backbone of any decent tool kit, so not having them is a bit of a surprise.
But, that’s reflected in the price. You won’t find a cheaper product out there! For bargain hunters, this could well be one of the best motorcycle tool kits around.
Pros
- Economical.
- Small and portable.
- Excellent screwdriver and key options.
Cons
- Flimsy case.
- Lacks some items.

Nelson-Rigg RG-055 Universal Tool Roll, Black, 13.75”L x 10.5”H – Best Motorcycle Tool Roll
Roll with it
Finally, we come to this tool roll from Nelson-Rigg. Everyone knows this trusted brand! Since 1972, they’ve been crafting top-notch luggage, clothing, and other accessories for motorcycles.
Can this live up to their reputation?
Constructed from first-rate, black polyester, this roll is robust and long-lasting. With superb abrasion resistance, it offers an awesome level of protection for our tools. And though it’s well-padded, it can be rolled up tightly to save on space.
On the interior, that polyester is bright orange. Not only does this look great, but it also has a practical purpose too. As it offers a high definition contrast to the contents of the case, it means that screws, and other tiny items, are easy to spot.
How are tools held in place?
Eight stitched pockets see to that. Varying in size, there’s a compartment for everything here. Plus, they’re backed up by a sturdy elastic strap to really secure everything in place.
There’s a separate zippered pocket, too. Though small, it has the perfect amount of volume for spare nuts and bolts. And that’s not all; there are three elasticated loops for CO2 canisters as well.
No tools included…
It’s important that we point out the difference between this item and the others we’ve reviewed. This does not contain any tools. Therefore, for those just beginning their journey as an amateur motorcycle mechanic, it won’t be much use.
Experienced riders, however, have usually managed to acquire various tools and accessories over time! And this is an ideal way to keep them safe and together in one place. It provides ample security and peace of mind, and as a bonus, it looks cool too!
Pros
- Roomy pockets.
- Well-crafted.
- Reliable brand.
Cons
- Tools sold separately.
Best Motorcycle Tool Kits Buying Guide
We’ve seen a lot of different products in this review. From the tools featured to the quality of the case, they each had their positives and negatives.
So, what should we consider when looking at the best motorbike tool kits?
Maybe we should start by making a motorcycle tool kit list. What does a rider actually need? And which tools are unnecessary?
An adjustable wrench is probably the most useful items found in a tool box. It should be backed up by a couple of combination wrenches as well. It often seems like no two bolts of a bike are the same, so a variety of sizing options is of paramount importance.
Similarly, it needs a decent selection of sockets. They should be used with a couple of different ratchets. And they really need to have extensions for those difficult to reach places.
Do we need a screwdriver?
They’re pretty useful things to have! But just one won’t do. A handle with multiple heads is the way forward here, to give us plenty of options while saving space.
These tools are all essential for tinkering at home. But for on the go repairs, there are a couple of other items we just can’t do without. And often, they’re overlooked.
We’re talking about duct tape and cable ties, of course! They may not seem important, but they can be real lifesavers. OK, they don’t offer a permanent solution, but for patching things together so we can limp the bike back to the garage, they are absolutely indispensable.
But, you’ll also need…
Allen keys are worth mentioning as well. If a part has a hexagonal setting, then it’s almost impossible to adjust without one. Be sure that the kit has a good array of sizes, as they can vary wildly from bike to bike.
And there are those little extras. Elements such as a tire gauge or a flashlight. Sure, they’re not as vital as other tools. But they sure are handy to have around.
The casing really needs to be considered. Remember, these tools aren’t just going to sit in the garage; they need to be carried on the bike as well. The holder should provide an appropriate level of protection but should be easily portable too.
Last but not least, how much is it?
A great tool set isn’t cheap. Always compare the contents and quality with the price to find the product that offers the most bang for your buck.
Oh, and a quick word of warning; always check the specifications of your bike before picking your tools. You don’t want to get home only to discover you’ve bought the wrong size!

So, what are the Best Motorcycle Tool Kits?
This was a tough call! But the winner in this review of the best tool kits for motorcycles has to be the…
Biker’s Choice Roll-Up Tool Kit 151522
This one provides the best value for money. It is easy on the old purse strings but doesn’t scrimp on quality. Plus, that roll-up holder is incredibly practical and convenient for use on the go.
And, of course, the tools themselves are fantastic. We have everything we need here. The selection on offer was almost perfect, and although designed for a Harley, they should work just fine with most other motorcycles as well.
So, happy riding, folks!
