Motorcycle helmets with Bluetooth are commonly found in touring helmets because they can be used as part of the intercom system. However, Bluetooth helmets have a lot more to their game than just intercoms. They can be used for listening to music, GPS instructions, or for taking calls. Consequently, they’re a great choice for a wide range of bikers.
These days the selection has never been better. To narrow down the choices, I’ve picked eight standouts. So, let’s take a closer look and find the best Bluetooth motorcycle helmet for you and your bike…

Top 8 Best Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmets on thr Market in 2022 Reviews
1
TORC T15B – Best Full Face Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
This is a full-faced helmet made from a tough Thermo Polymer outer shell. In the unlikely event of an accident, this is a helmet you can depend on. It has both DOT and ECE certifications. Therefore, it is one of the safest Bluetooth motorcycle helmets on the market.
It has strong aerodynamic credentials. The built-in spoiler does a great job of not only reducing buffeting and improving stability but also helps to reduce wind noise. It’s a solid choice for anyone riding at speed over long distances.
A comfy ride…
On the inside, you’re cossetted with a soft suede inner liner. It feels comfortable, and happily, it’s also removable and machine washable. So it’s easy to keep in pristine condition.
Another area where the TORC T15B scores well. The vents are plentiful and generously sized. The two large vents on the top of the helmet are almost stealth-like but never the less hugely effective, as are the internal channeling and the large rear exhausts. In turn, this is one of the best vented Bluetooth motorcycle helmets you can buy.
It comes with Bluetooth 2.0…
Incorporated in such a way as not to interfere unduly with its styling or aerodynamic properties. Other than the small and easy-to-use controller under the left ear, there’s nothing to distinguish between this and the non-Bluetooth model.
Despite using older Bluetooth technology, the system is highly capable. It still has an impressive 400 meters range. It also has an equally impressive 600 hours of standby and 24 hours of talk time. Although data transfer is not up to the same speed as 5.0 systems, these are still very solid numbers.
Feature-packed…
Other Bluetooth features include a noise-canceling microphone, multi-paring ability, one-touch pair and go, and quality dual stereo speakers.
Pros
- Thermo Polymer tough outer shell.
- DOT and ECE certified.
- Removable suede liner.
- Large vents.
- 600 hours Bluetooth standby time.
- 24 hours talk time.
- 400 meters range.
Cons
- Bluetooth 2.0 technology.
2
ILM – Best Flip Up Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
If you’re looking for a quality modular helmet, with Bluetooth technology, in an affordable package, this might be the one for you. Plus, if you like the idea of pretending to be a stormtrooper, you should pick the white model. If that’s too much of a strong look, not to worry, there are black and red options too.
Quality construction…
The main outer shell is constructed of ABS, which is married with an EPS inner shell. It’s a strong combination, confirmed by the fact that this is ECE as well as DOT approved.
Fortunately, the strength isn’t at the expense of weight as it comes in at just under two kilograms. Therefore, it is one of the best lightweight Bluetooth motorcycle helmets available.
The Bluetooth system is cleverly integrated…
The controller sits below the left ear on the outside of the helmet. We like the design a lot. Most importantly, it’s easy to operate, but it’s also unobtrusive and doesn’t significantly increase wind noise or reduce aerodynamics.
The controller can be used to receive calls, listen to music, or instruction from your GPS navigation device. It also has a noise-canceling microphone to improve the caller experience.
Riding in a group…
The good news is that you can pair with up to eight riders, over a distance of 1,000 feet, at the same time. The standard model allows you to pair with up to three riders. If you feel you will never need to pair with more than three, you should go for the standard option. All the other features are the same, but you will save yourself about ten percent over the Pro version.
The Bluetooth system is reliable and isn’t prone to dropping out. However, it uses older Bluetooth 3.0 technology. Consequently, you don’t get the same kind of range and data transfer as you get from more up-to-date Bluetooth 5.0 systems.
Long-lasting…
Finally, battery life will give you 12 hours of talking time, eight hours of intercom talking time, and 120 hours of standby time. It also has an automatic shut-off, when not in use, to conserve battery life.
Pros
- Strong outer and inner shell.
- DOT and ECE certified.
- Lightweight.
- Unobtrusive Bluetooth controller.
- Intercom is compatible with up to eight riders.
- Noise-canceling microphone.
Cons
- It uses Bluetooth 3.0.
3
GDM VENOM – Best Budget Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
Next, in our review of the Best Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmets, an affordable option that gives you a strong and lightweight helmet with plenty of features, including a Bluetooth intercom. It comes in black and a choice of three sizes with options for three different shields.
You can specify either a tinted, iridium, or chrome shied. What we like most is the fact that you get an additional clear shield included at no extra cost.
That’s excellent value…
The outer shell is made from advanced composite alloy. It’s tough and lightweight, and DOT certified. However, unlike a lot of more expensive helmets, it isn’t ECE certified.
It uses the latest Bluetooth 5.0 version. We’re sure you’ll agree this is good to see at this kind of price-point. You have to fix the Bluetooth system to the helmet yourself. Annoying. Fortunately, this is a reasonably easy process, and the time you spend is justified because of the low cost.
Once fitted…
The Bluetooth system gives you a standby time of 20 hours and a talk time of 12 hours. It’s not class-leading, but it’s good enough in most circumstances. The controller is sleek, easy to operate, and includes a noise-canceling microphone.
Likewise, the controller allows you to take calls and also play and organize your music. The system also includes a pair of good quality stereo speakers, which is an area that many other systems all too often compromise on.
Pros
- Affordable.
- Choice of three different visors.
- It comes with a second clear visor as standard.
- Bluetooth 5.0.
- Good quality speakers.
Cons
- Not ECE certified.
- The Bluetooth system is not pre-installed.
4
FreedConn – Best Dual Visor Modular Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
This a modular helmet that features a strong outer shell that’s both DOT and ECE certified. The chin guard can be lifted to the top of the helmet, which is a great feature when you either want to eat, drink or even ride at low speeds around town.
Oh, dear…
Unfortunately, the chin guard, unlike some other modular helmets, cannot be flipped to the rear. This makes the helmet a little top-heavy and gives it the aerodynamics of a brick when it’s flipped. That’s why we’d only recommend you use it at low speed when the chin guard is up.
It’s a well-vented helmet, and the good news is that you can be assured of staying cool in just about any weather. At speed, the venting doesn’t cause excessive noise or buffeting, so it’s a great helmet to use for long-distance touring.
Other features…
A drop-down sun shield, an impact-resistant face shield, and a removable, machine-washable liner. Care should be taken when removing the liner as the noise-canceling microphone is fixed to the left side. Frankly, removing the microphone needs to be done gently.
The Bluetooth 3.0 system comes pre-installed and features a controller on the outside left of the helmet. It uses a wheel and button system. You can use it to receive calls, operate the intercom for use with two other riders as far as 500 meters away, play music, and listen to GPS instructions. Standby time is 120 hours, and you get a total of 12 hours of talk time.
Pros
- Modular design.
- DOT and ECE certified.
- Noise-canceling microphone.
- 500 meters intercom range.
- Dropdown sun shield.
Cons
- Bluetooth 3.0.
- It’s difficult to separate the microphone from the inner liner.
5
AHR Run-B – Best Bargain Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
This has a tough ABS outer shell and a head-hugging inner shell and liner. If you can get a good fit, that’s great. However, one of our biggest moans is that it only comes in three sizes. What’s that all about? We think even five size option is a little light. But three? Really?
While we’re on the moans and niggles section, the fact that it only comes in either gloss or matte black is doing itself no favors either. Not a good start, we’re sure you’ll agree.
One thing we can’t complain about…
The price. This is an inexpensive helmet and is even more so when you consider a Bluetooth communication system included. You’ll have to look far and wide before you find something close to this kind of price with these kinds of features.
For such an inexpensive system, the Bluetooth works very well. You can listen to music, take calls, and hook up with other riders. What impressed us most is that the intercom will work up to 1,000 meters which is much further than a lot of more expensive Bluetooth systems.
What’s less impressive is the size and mounting of the controller. It’s big and stands out like a sore thumb. It looks ugly, and it does nothing to help with aerodynamics or wind noise.
Speaking of aerodynamics…
The rest of the helmet isn’t the best in this department. Plus, ventilation could also be better as the vents are small and don’t do a particularly good job. This isn’t a helmet we’d recommend or like to wear ourselves on a hot day.
That said, it’s one of the best cheap Bluetooth motorcycle helmets. It offers fair levels of protection but is a little unrefined. If you’re on a tight budget and need Bluetooth is not a bad choice. Otherwise, consider spending a little more on a helmet with better ventilation, aerodynamics, plus, color and size choices.
Pros
- Tough ABS outer shell.
- DOT approved.
- Bluetooth has a good range.
- Affordable.
Cons
- Large Bluetooth controller.
- Poor choice of colors and sizes.
- Suboptimal ventilation.
6
Sena CAVALRY-CL-GB-XL – Best Open Face Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
The Sena CAVALRY-CL-GB is the only open-faced helmet in our Best Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet review. However, the level of protection it affords, thanks to the composite fiberglass shell, exceeds that of other helmets. Just remember to keep your chin away from the curb if you crash, and you’ll be fine.
It comes in a choice of six sizes and just two colors, either matte or gloss black. However, unlike the AHR helmet we’ve just reviewed, given the style, we can overlook the lack of choice as black is in keeping with its looks.
It comes with a low profile and aerodynamic visor. It should, however, be noted that there is no drop-down sun shied and also no place to attach a face shield. Therefore, you’ll need to get your goggles or sunglasses ready.
Integrated Sena Bluetooth system…
It is an industry standard and one of the best you can buy. The helmet has a recessed channel for the controller to fit neatly inside. The controller is relatively large in comparison to some others, but the clever shaping of the helmet does a lot to help it disappear.
The Bluetooth 4.1 can work at distances up to 900 meters. In combination with the quality speakers that have noise control and wind reduction properties, you’re guaranteed to get crystal clear sound. Furthermore, you’ll never struggle to hear riding buddies, music, GPS, or anyone on an incoming call.
Practical and versatile…
For even more convenience, you can link up Sena Bluetooth to your mobile device. You can then set up dial presets, create FM radio presets, and access the quick start guide. Additionally, it works with both Android or iPhones. As a result, this is one of the most versatile Bluetooth motorcycle helmets you can buy.
Pros
- Composite fiberglass shell.
- Removable sun visor.
- Quality Bluetooth 4.1 system.
- Noise control and win reduction capabilities.
- Long-range intercom.
- Sena Bluetooth can link to your mobile phone.
Cons
- No fixing system for a face shield.
7
Sena Momentum Pro – Best Bluetooth with Integrated QHD Camera Motorcycle Helmet
This is the most expensive Bluetooth helmet on our list. Despite this, it has plenty of features and quality to more than justify the high price tag. We would go as far as to say that this is the best Bluetooth motorbike helmet on an already impressive list.
So, what makes it so good?
First, it has a hard composite fiberglass shell. This means, other than a carbon fiber outer shell, it’s as strong and as light as your likely to get. The rest of the helmet is also up to the same standard.
You get a multi-density EPS liner along with a removable and machine washable micro bacterial inner liner. Plus, an impact-resistant face shield with an anti-fog Pinlock shield and first-class venting. Essentially, it’s one of the most durable Bluetooth motorcycle helmets on the market.
All good stuff…
You also get one of the best Bluetooth motorcycle systems on the market. However, what also comes integrated onto the top of the helmet is a 135-degrees view HD camera which is capable of recording for two hours. The camera makes it a standout from just about any other helmet.
The Sena Bluetooth is also high quality. It has a range of one mile and can be linked to another eight riders. This puts it into a class of its own. Together with a talk time of 20 hours, built-in FM radio, a series of advanced audio controls, and advanced noise control systems, this is truly a hard one to beat.
Lights, camera, action…
Overall, this is one of the best group riding Bluetooth motorcycle helmets out there. If you have the money and you want to continually record your rides, this is for you.
Pros
- Hard composite fiberglass outer shell.
- Multi-density EPS liner.
- Impact-resistant face shield.
- Pinlock shield insert.
- HD integrated camera.
- Good ventilation.
- Bluetooth 4.1 with a one-mile connectivity range.
- Eight-person intercom capability.
- Twenty hours of talk time.
- Advanced audio and noise control systems.
Cons
- Price.
- The camera compromises aerodynamics.
8
VCAN Blinc 210 – Best City Riding Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet
There’s a lot to like about the VCAN Blinc. However, two things we don’t like straight off the bat are the limited four-size options and the choice of two shades of black. We’ve criticized other helmets for the same failings, and VCAN gets the same treatment. Not good enough, guys.
More positively…
You get a DOT-approved helmet with a strong ABS shell. It’s not quite up to the same standard as a fiberglass composite shell and not as light either. However, given the price point, it’s perfectly acceptable.
This is a modular helmet and performs well at speed and around the city with the chin bar flipped. The chin bar cannot be flipped to the rear of the helmet, but again, given the price point, it’s more than acceptable.
Things we give high marks to…
Its aerodynamic design and insulation against wind noise. At speed, there very little buffeting, and it’s also one of the quietest Bluetooth motorcycles helmets in its class. We also like the drop-down sun shield, the anti-scratch face shield, and the washable liner.
The Bluetooth uses older 2.0 technology. However, it still manages to squeeze out 600 hours of standby time and 15 hours of talk time. There’s no doubt that’s much better than even some of the latest 5.0 Bluetooth systems.
Good, but not the best…
Additionally, it has noise-canceling features. You can listen to music, take calls, and of course, talk to riding buddies through the intercom. This should have led us to give it full marks, but the range for taking in the intercom is relatively low and has to go into our moans and niggles section.
Pros
- Modular design.
- Dropdown sun shield.
- Aerodynamic.
- Quiet.
- Long standby time.
- 15 hours talk time.
Cons
- Low range when using the intercom.
- Poor color choice.
- It’s only available in four sizes.
Best Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet Buying Guide
Overview
If you want a Bluetooth motorcycle helmet, there is a lot to take into account. Things that need to be considered include the quality and strength of the outer and inner shell, the aerodynamics, the level of venting, features and coatings on the face, and the sun shield. Additionally, you need to decide if you want a full-face, modular, or open-faced helmet.
Once you have made your decision on these key elements, you can then go on to examine the pros and cons of the Bluetooth systems. You will, of course, have to factor in your budgetary constraints within the equation.
Integration
It’s relatively easy to retrofit a Bluetooth system into your helmet. A lot of touring helmets already have spaces and channels specially made to make the process easier. However, we have selected helmets that have Bluetooth already installed. This is except for the GDM VENOM Motorcycle Helmet that requires you to fit their controller, speakers, and microphone yourself.
The Bluetooth controller is routinely fixed on the outside of the helmet. The best Bluetooth controller, in our opinion, is the one found on the ILM Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet. It fits beautifully onto the helmet and does little to spoil the looks, interfere with its aerodynamics, or unnecessarily increase wind noise.
Other things to look for are helmets with recessed speakers and microphone pockets. These help to keep the helmet’s profile low and also help to ensure a snug fit without causing discomfort.
Sound Quality
It’s pointless having an up-to-date 5.0 Bluetooth system if the sound quality is so poor you can’t hear what’s being said, and the people at the other end can’t hear what you’re saying either. Therefore, noise-canceling features, advanced audio enhancement, and superior speakers are important things to look for.
The Sena Momentum Pro gives you all this and more. Consequently, it’s our top choice for all-around audio quality when used with all types of media.
Standby Time
You would expect the latest Bluetooth versions to give the best standby times, but this is not always the case. 100 hours we believe, is more than sufficient. However, the VCAN Blinc 210 uses Bluetooth 2.0 to deliver an incredible 600 hours of standby time. Similarly, the TORC T15B, also with a Bluetooth 2.0 system, will give you the same amount.
Talk Time
Talk time is just as, if not more important, than standby time. Twelve hours should see you through even the longest rides. However, if you need more time, either the VCAN Blinc 210 or the TORC T15B are solid choices. These will give you 20 hours and 25 hours of talk time, respectively.
Intercom range
300 to 400 meters is very much the typical range for most motorcycle intercoms. This will be more than acceptable in just about every circumstance you’re likely to find yourself in.
The Sena Momentum Pro excels with up to a full mile of intercom range. That’s hugely impressive and wins our choice as the best Bluetooth helmet for motorcycle in our review if intercom range is a priority.

Best Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet – Final Thoughts
So, there you have it. There are plenty of good reasons to choose a Bluetooth motorcycle helmet. As we become more and more connected, they are becoming increasingly popular and increasingly make a lot of sense.
I’d be happy to use any of the elements in our review. However, if I had to choose to take just one home with me, it would be the…
Sena Momentum Pro Bluetooth with Integrated QHD Camera Helmet
I like it because it has a hard composite fiberglass shell fused with a multi-density EPS liner. Additionally, it has an integrated HD action camera integrated into the top of the helmet.
Plus, it has an impressive eight-person intercom that has a one-mile range, 20 hours of talk time capability, and advanced audio quality.
Until next time, happy trails.
