Top 10 Best Bike Racks For Bike Lovers Reviews
1
Delta Cycle Michelangelo – Best Horizontal Floor Bike Rack
If you’re struggling for room in your apartment or house, this is a great option.
The bike rack can be sited on either carpeted or hard floored surfaces. It’s a stylish design, so it won’t look out of place, be it a hallway or garage, or wherever you choose to use it.
Stores two bikes…
The Delta Cycle Michelangelo stand is 84” x 20” x 16”. It has a powder-coated finish and can hold two bikes and has a total capacity of 35 kgs. For a couple of road bikes, there will be no way you’ll get anywhere close to this kind of weight. However, if you have a pair of fat bikes or heavier mountain bikes, you could get precariously close to this limit.
That’s one for the moans and niggles section…
More positively, the stand is a piece of cake to assemble. You don’t have to drill into the walls, and the only tool you need for assembly is a single hex key. Even for the less practical amongst you, a couple of minutes is all it takes to have the stand built and ready to go.
Once you’ve assembled it, the stand leans against your wall to secure it in place. It has rubber bumpers on the frame to prevent any damage to the paintwork on your walls, and, once in position, it feels nice and stable.
Horizontal floor rack design…
The height of the arms can be adjusted to accommodate different sized bikes. You can fit a small bike on one arm and a large bike on the other with no problems. Additionally, the arms have rubber sleeves, so there’s no chance of you scratching your bike’s frame or frames.
One last moan is that the second bike can be difficult to load as it has to be lifted to around head height. We’d recommend you load the lighter bike on the lower arms for this reason, as well as for balance. This isn’t a deal-breaker, but it’s certainly something to bear in mind.
Pros
- Good value.
- Quick assembly time.
- Stylish.
- Can store two bikes.
Cons
- Low maximum weight capacity.
- Second bike is challenging to load.
2
Steadyrack Classic Bike Rack
The Steadyrack Classic Bike Rack has a maximum weight capacity of 77lbs. Since this is the weight capacity for a single bike, we have no complaints about this at all. The bike rack can store any bike with a tire width up to 2.4” and tire diameters between 20” to 29”.
This, therefore, makes the rack suitable for everything other than fat bikes or some mountain bikes with very wide tires. If you do happen to have wide tired bikes, then check out the rest of the Steadyrack range. They have a rack for these eventualities.
Some drilling required…
The rack has two parts. The top half is where the frame holds the front wheel. The bottom half is where the plastic holder secures the rear wheel in place. Both halves of the rack need to be screwed into the wall, so some drilling will be required.
When you drill the bottom plastic holder in place, be sure to measure the distance between the wheels of the bike you’re storing. The Steadyrack Classic Bike Rack, once installed, isn’t suitable for bikes with very different wheel sizes and geometries from the one you’ve measured it for.
Placing your bike into the Steadyrack Classic Bike Rack is easy. You just get your bike onto the back wheel and then simply guide the front wheel into the top half of the rack. The rear wheel should then fall into place into the plastic holder.
And Bob’s your uncle…
Once the bike’s locked into place, the frame can be angled away from being perpendicular to the wall. The rack has a total of 160 degrees of swivel to enable you to free up precious room.
If you have more than one bike…
It doesn’t give you as much space as when you’re storing a couple of bikes parallel to the wall. However, if you’re storing a lot of bikes, this is probably the optimum system.
Bike shops certainly seem to think so.
Pros
- Heavyweight capacity.
- Stable.
- 160-Degree swivel capability.
- No lifting to place the bike.
Cons
- Price.
3
Feedback Sports RAKK Bicycle Storage Stand (Black) – Most Stable Floor Bike Rack
This style of bike rack is a ubiquitous sight in the cycling world.
A couple of significant advantages for the Feedback Sports RAKK Bicycle Storage Stand is that it’s inexpensive, and there’s also no weight limit. The only limiting factor is the tire width, which is restricted to 2.4”. Fat bikes and some mountain bikes are likely to fall foul of this.
All you need is a floor…
To put the bike in the rack, you just need to wheel it in. You can do this with either wheel. Best of all, you don’t even need to lift it off the ground. It couldn’t be simpler.
Super stable…
Other positives include that this is one of the most stable bike racks you can buy. Once in place, there’s close to zero chance of your bike coming to any harm. Another positive is that since your bike’s tire is the only part to come in contact with the rack, there’s no chance of damaging your bike’s paint or wheels.
Modular design…
One thing that sets the Feedback Sports RAKK bike stand apart from other similar racks is its modular design so, if you have multiple bikes, it allows you to join the racks together. This enables you to space your bikes at an optimal distance between each other.
The only real disadvantage of the Feedback Sports RAKK Bicycle Storage Stand is that you do need a lot of space to store a large number of bikes compared to alternative stands. This isn’t a very space-friendly option and is unlikely to find its way into a house or apartment. Most likely, it’s destined for the garage.
Pros
- Affordable.
- No lifting needed.
- Stable.
- Does not damage the paintwork.
Cons
- Not space-efficient.
4
Racor – PBH-1R, Bike Storage, Garage Pulley Lift – Best Ceiling Pully Bike Rack
The Racor – PBH-1R, Bike Storage, Garage Pulley Lift is most likely to be used in the garage. However, if you live in a house, apartment, or apartment building, it could also find a possible home. There’s no doubt that the Racor is perfect for anywhere with a high ceiling and restricted floor space.
Ceiling pully design…
It’s fixed to the roof with two brackets. The brackets must be set into something substantial and not just into plasterboard. Otherwise, things are likely to go very wrong! Once the brackets are secured, a fixing bracket for the cord then needs to be attached to the wall.
Then…
The two pulleys on the ceiling each have a claw shape bracket. Once lowered, the padded claws hold your bike under the top tube and seat. To store your bike, pull on the cord and the pulley to raise it into the air. Then, once raised, lock the bike in position by using the cord on the fixing bracket.
To lower the bike, just follow the reverse process.
Fat bike-friendly…
The RACOR Garage Pulley Lift has a weight capacity of 50lbs. This makes it strong enough even to get your fat bike into the air. What’s more, since the system doesn’t come into contact with the wheels, there’s no restriction on tire widths.
The pulley works on a gearing system, which reduces the effective weight by eight times. This means that it’s easy to operate. Even for you road racers with your skinny arms!
Pros
- Suitable for all kinds of bikes.
- Large weight capacity.
- Requires zero floor space.
- Easy to operate.
- Affordable.
Cons
- Requires solid mounting points.
- Installation time.
5
Ibera Horizontal Bicycle Bike Wall Hanger, Bike Hook Holder Storage Rack for Indoor Storage, 45 Degree Adjustable Angle to Keep Your Bike Level
This is one of the most affordable best bike racks that works well on any garage or hallway wall.
The Ibera Horizontal Bicycle Bike Wall Hanger is fixed into the wall with four screws through the mounting plate. It needs to be screwed into something solid like wood, brick, or concrete as it will only be able to hold your bike’s weight with a secure mounting point.
Suitable for most…
The rack can hold a single bike up to 40lbs. The bike’s frame cannot be more extensive than 2,” but there’s no restriction on tire width. This means it’s suitable for most and all but the heaviest of bikes.
The bike hanger can also be extended, via the adjustable beam, from between 8.5” to 12”. The ability to extend the hanger is so it can store bicycles with different lengths of handlebars. This means bikes with wider handlebars can fit, and the beam can be adjusted for bikes with narrower handlebars to make more space.
Securing your bike…
The two holders have foam padding, which prevents any paintwork damage. Once on the rack, there is a Velcro strap that is used to tie the front wheel to the rest of the bike. This prevents it from moving around and putting muddy marks on the wall.
Though we’re sure you’ll agree it’s a great idea to have something that prevents unwanted marks on your walls, the Velcro strap is never the less a bit fiddly to use in practice.
And…
Another niggle is that lifting your bike and loading it onto the rack can be awkward. If you’re not too careful, it can quickly come into contact with the wall. That means muddy marks after all!
Pros
- Affordable.
- Will hold all makes of bike.
- Adjustable beam for handlebar width.
- Maximum 40lbs weight capacity.
Cons
- Difficult to load.
6
flat-bike-lift – The new overhead rack to store the bikes flat to the garage ceiling – Best Hydropneumatic Ceiling Bike Rack
This is made to optimize floor space in your garage by storing your bike on the roof. Whilst there’s no doubt that it’s an elegant solution, there’s also no doubt that it also a rather expensive one.
But if you’re a premium customer…
It works by securing a bracket into the ceiling and then attaching a pivoting rack to the bracket. The rack is suitable for ceilings between 8’ to 8.5’ high, but there are versions of the rack with longer arms if your roof exceeds this height. You would need to contact their customer services department for exact details.
The bracket should ideally be fixed into something substantial. However, if you have a drywall ceiling, you can use a special bracket. Again, contact their customer services or refer to their website for details.
Hydro-pneumatic system…
The frame uses a hydro-pneumatic system so you can extend the rack up to and down from the ceiling. It’s easy to do, and you don’t need any strength to operate it. When it’s up to the roof, your bike lays in a horizontal position from the ceiling and allows you sufficient headroom to walk underneath.
Quick-lock…
To load your bike, you pull down the rack and lift it onto the quick lock rack. The quick lock rack can secure any make or size of bicycle in seconds. Then, to store it, lift the handle and put the frame back in a horizontal position against to garage ceiling.
It’s a smooth, easy to use system that seems to have thought of everything. It even has a place to store your helmet. It’s an elegant system and undoubtedly one of the best bike racks you can buy.
Pros
- Does not use any wall or floor space.
- Suitable for all sizes and makes of bikes.
- Quick to load and unload.
- Easy to pull down and return.
Cons
- Installation time.
- Cost.
7
CLUG Bike Clip Indoor Outdoor Roadie Bicycle Rack Storage System – Best Small Bike Rack
The CLUG is small. In fact, it markets itself as being the smallest bike rack in the world.
It may be small but…
It’s a one-piece bike storage system that works by holding your bike by its front wheel. It holds the front wheel by the tire and then allows the rear wheel to support the rest of the weight of the bike. In the process, the rear wheel also comes into direct contact with the wall.
This is all great for supporting the weight of the bike, but not so great for the wall.
Keep it outside…
The advertising hints at the CLUG being ideal for use inside the house or office. We don’t think so. The contact of the bike’s rear wheel on the wall is bound to leave dirty marks no matter how carefully you clean your bike and wheels. For this reason, we can’t see any other place for the CLUG other than the garage or in an outside space.
The CLUG fixes straight into the wall with just two screws. When attaching it to the wall, you’ll need to make sure that the rear wheel can make contact with the ground once the front wheel is in position.
Compatability…
It comes in a selection of five different sizes. These are suitable for tire widths between 23mm right up to a maximum of 69mm. The range is relatively comprehensive though it does not cover all bike tires. If you have a vintage bike with 19mm or 21mm tire, you’re out of luck. Similarly, fat bikes are out of luck too.
Because the only point of contact between the CLUG and the bike is via the tire, it eliminates any chance of potential damage to the wheels or frame. This is always a big plus.
Another big plus is…
It’s one of the best bike racks for easy loading. You simply have to pull your bike onto its back wheel and push the front wheel into the CLUG. All without ever having to lift your bike.
Pros
- Quick installation.
- No frame or wheel contact.
- No lifting to load the bike.
- Affordable.
Cons
- Only suitable for outdoors or garages.

Delta Cycle Leonardo Da Vinci Single Bike Storage Rack Hook Hanger with Tire Tray for Vertical Indoor Garage – Best Wall Mounted Bike Rack with Tray
The Delta Cycle Leonardo Da Vinci Single Bike Storage Rack comes in two parts. The first part holds the front wheel firmly in place while the second part prevents the rear wheel from making contact with the wall.
Take note…
Both sections screw into the wall so you’ll need something solid to screw in to. When screwing in the two parts of the bike rack, it’s essential to make sure the gap between the two is the correct distance to allow the rear wheel of your bike to sit in the tray properly.
Because all bikes have different geometries, once fitted, the bike rack may not be suitable for anything other than the bike it was initially measured for. There is a Delta Cycle Leonardo Da Vinci bike rack for standard tires and ones over 2.5” wide. You, therefore, need to make sure you order the right size.
Bottom tray…
The bike rack can be a little difficult to load, but it’s well-padded on the arm so that it won’t damage your wheel. The bottom tray also does an excellent job of keeping the rear wheel from damaging paintwork or dirtying your wall.
Unless you have a huge house…
In all likelihood, the Delta Cycle Leonardo Da Vinci bike rack will be used in the garage. This is because it takes up a lot of space that makes it impractical, in most circumstances, to be used inside. Consequently, you may be tempted to save a few bucks and opt for the version without the rear tray. We’d advise against this as getting muddy marks, even on a garage wall, is not a great look.
The bike rack is already an excellent value proposition. However, if you have multiple bikes, and want to save a little extra cash, you have the option of 2, 3, or 4 packs.
Pros
- 40lbs maximum weight capacity.
- Suitable for all bikes.
- Wide tire version.
- Affordable.
Cons
- Can be awkward to load.
9
Dirza Bike Rack Garage Wall Mount Bike Hanger Storage System Vertical Bike Hook for Indoor Shed – Easily Hang/Detach – Heavy Duty Holds up to 65 lb with Screws Black – Most Durable Wall Mount Bike Rack
Our next best bike rack, the Dirza, is the largest and strongest of the wall-mounted racks in our review. It measures 10” long and 2.5” wide. Most impressive is its maximum load of a back-breaking 65lbs.
Congratulations if you’re strong enough to ride a bike that heavy!
Setting up the wall-mount…
The mounting plate fixes into the wall with four large screws. It needs to be fixed into something like brick or cement. This shouldn’t be a real problem since the Dirza Bike Rack has been predominantly designed for garage use.
In use, the Dirza is one of the easiest to load. The hook is large, and this makes it easy to hook on your bike quickly. The catch is also well-padded and made from good quality rubber. This means that it won’t scratch your bike and is likely to have excellent durability.
Lifetime guarantee…
Despite its low price-point, the Dirza Bike Rack Garage Wall Mount Bike Hanger still offers a lifetime guarantee. Keep your receipt safe and sound, and you’ve really nothing to lose.
There are a lot of positives for the Dirza bike rack. The only moan is that there’s no tray to keep the lower wheel off the wall. That’s going to lead to a badly scuffed up wall.
Now…
We know that this is most likely to be destined for your garage, but we’re sure you’d still prefer to keep the walls from looking like they’ve been sprayed with mud. Your alternatives are to obsessively clean your bike every time you hang it, build your own tray, or buy a rack that has one.
Pros
- Strong and durable.
- 65lb maximum weight capacity.
- Strong fixings.
- Easy to load.
- Affordable.
- Lifetime warranty.
Cons
- No wheel-tray.
10
Saris The Boss Bike Stand
The Saris bike stand is floor standing. It works by supporting the rear axle between two metal prongs with rubber tips. To place the bike in the stand requires lifting into place.
Bit fiddly…
Compared to the Feedback Sports RAKK, it’s more awkward to load. An element of precision is needed to place the axle in precisely the right position between the two prongs. Frankly, it’s a bit fiddly.
Although there’s minimal contact with the bike, there’s always the possibility of catching or scratching something when you put your bike on the stand.
We like that it can fold away…
More positively, once the bike is in place, the Saris bike stand takes up less floor space than the Feedback Sports RAKK. Plus, when not in use, it folds away into a tiny profile. That’s a win for the Saris bike rack.
Overall, at this point, we think they come out even.
Disc brake friendly too…
The bike rack is compatible with wheels between 20” to 29”. It can be used with any style of bike, which includes bikes with disc brakes. The rack has no weight limit, which is also good news.
And the good news just keeps on coming as this is built with entirely 100% corrosion-free, recyclable materials. In this day and age, we’re sure you’ll agree, no bad thing. The stand also comes with a lifetime guarantee, so be sure to keep your receipt somewhere safe.
Especially since…
There’s plenty to like about the Saris bike rack. However, the price isn’t one of them. Compared to the Feedback Sports RAKK, it’s relatively expensive. There’s no doubt that it’s built from premium materials, but we’d be happier with a slightly lower price point.
Pros
- No weight limit.
- Suitable for all bikes.
- High build quality.
- Lifetime guarantee.
Cons
- Fiddly to load the bike.
- Cost.
Best Bike Racks Buying Guide
Overview
Bike racks are an excellent solution for storing your bike or bikes safely. They reduce the chance of damage to the bike and everything around it. Additionally, they can help to free up space, either in a garage or inside the home.
There are floor, wall, and ceiling bike racks. Which kind of bike rack is best for you will be down to a combination of the type of bikes you have and the kind of place you intend to store them.
Let’s take a closer look at the different types of bike racks and explore their specific advantages.
Floor Bike Racks
Floor racks are the most popular style of bike racks, and it’s easy to see why.
One of the significant advantages is that they’re easy to load. You can wheel your bike straight into the clamp, and you’re done. There’s no lifting and no fiddling around with levers or hooks. What’s more, they also don’t have a weight limit, and they can fit in any style of bike.
Another bonus is…
The icing on the cake is that they’re one of the least expensive bike rack options.
The only downside is that they take up a lot of space. This is why they are generally only used in garages. Since this is where most people tend to keep their bikes, it also explains their popularity.
If you’re keeping your bike in the garage and you have space, we’d recommend the Feedback Sports RAKK. It’s an inexpensive hard to beat package.
Horizontal Floor Bike Racks
Horizontal floor racks are designed to accommodate two or more bikes.
Unlike a standard single floor rack, the horizontal version is much more space-efficient. In fact, these are frequently the best at freeing up space in narrow hallways or anywhere where floor space is limited.
But…
The major downside of these racks is that you’re unable to wheel your bike straight into the stand like with a single floor bike rack. Instead, you have to lift your bike onto the stand’s arms. The lower bike is relatively easy. However, raising the second bike above the first is awkward. It’s a bit of a strain on the arms too.
The Delta Cycle Michelangelo is an excellent horizontal floor rack. It’s a great option to store a couple of bikes where space is tight. It looks kind of cool too.
Wall Mounted Bike Racks
Wall-mounted bike racks are great space savers. If you have multiple bikes, they’re a great option too. Happily, they’re also a relatively inexpensive one.
Unlike floor mounted bike racks, you do need to spend a bit of time with the drill to position and install them. The racks, in some instances, also have to be measured before fitting according to the specific bike you’re riding.
Then…
Other negatives include having to lift them onto a hook, with the exception of the CLUG. Plus, some of the racks, which don’t have a tire tray, can leave your wall looking a bit dirty.
The Delta Cycle Leonardo Da Vinci wall mounted bike rack is our top choice for a wall-mounted bike rack. It’s excellent value, performs well, and also has the important tire tray to keep the dirt and tire marks off your walls.
Ceiling Bike Racks
If you’re considering a ceiling bike rack, you don’t necessarily need to have a high ceiling. The Flat-bike-lift offers a system, with pneumatic, assisted lifting, that can fix to a garage ceiling as low as 8’. It’s the most expensive and the most high-tech option on our list.
Or…
On the other end of the scale is the Racor pulley lift. This has also been designed with garages in mind. However, if you use it in a garage, you’ll have to be careful where you place it. A more logical place to use it would be a house or apartment block with a large ceiling.
There’s no doubt that ceiling bike racks are the best option for freeing up the most floor space. The only negative is that you must be careful that wherever they’re placed, they won’t potentially hit someone in the head.
It does happen!

Back to bike racks…
So, what are the Best Bike Racks?
So, there you have it, ten of the better bike racks to store your bike or bikes.
Each mounting method has its merits, but we prefer to use a floor mounted bike rack if there is sufficient room. The ease of being able to load any make of bike into this kind of rack, without the need for lifting, is a real winner for us. Consequently, our top pick is the…
We also like this rack because there’s no fixing or installation required. Better still, there’s no chance of damaging your wheels or paintwork. Plus, it’s inexpensive into the bargain!
No wonder they are so popular.
Enjoy your bikes, and enjoy your rides.
